Elvis Presley Signed Piano Receipt (1955). As his musical career was beginning, Elvis purchased a used Stroud piano from the O. K. Houck Piano Company in Memphis, on September 30, 1955. Houck's was the place in Memphis to buy musical instruments, and Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and B. B. King all bought instruments there. Using a trade-in, Elvis bought the piano on the installment plan, making payments until May 25, 1956. The document is signed in blue ink by Elvis Presley, listing his address as both 2414 Lamar Avenue (where he lived from the end of 1954 to mid-1955) and 1414 Getwell Street (where the Presley family rented a home until May '56). The document is in Very Good condition, measures 8" x 8.5" and is matted to an overall 13.75" x 13.75". COA from the Elvis Presley Estate at Graceland and COA from Rich Consola.
