Elvis Presley Related - Pre-RCA Contract Correspondence to Colonel Tom Parker (1955). It was late 1955, and the negotiations between Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and RCA's representative, Stephen H. Sholes, were heating up. This letter from Sholes to Parker suggested that the Colonel would have to take one of the offers already presented to him, because "these are the best deals we can offer." Somehow the posturing was overcome, and the historic signing occurred a scant 19 days later. We're also offering that contract in our auction.
