Description

Elton John & John Lennon Signed One Dollar Bill. Possibly the only dual signed relic from the eve of their historic concert performance at Madison Square Garden on Thanksgiving night, November 28th,1974, presented here is a one dollar bill signed by both Elton John and John Lennon in blue ballpoint pen. Obtained in person at a post concert celebration, accompanying this piece is a letter of authenticity from the restaurant bartender who acquired the signatures that fateful night, reading in part, "This signed bill was obtained by me while working as bartender in a very hot and exclusive restaurant on East 58th Street in New York City called KATJA... After one of the concerts a group of about 12 people including Elton John and John Lennon arrived for a late dinner. While their table was being prepared they waited at the bar and had a drink. I made them all drinks and someone other than Lennon and John paid for the fairly large tab. He then left me a one dollar tip which I was disappointed in. I asked him if he would have John Lennon and Elton John sign it for me. They both did and John Lennon handed it back to me." Tastefully matted and framed with an image of John and Lennon from the concert to an overall size of 16 x 20.5. This was John Lenonn's last concert appearance! Awesome! From The Tom Fontaine Music Memorabilia Collection.
