Duane Eddy and the Rebels Signed Contract for American Bandstand (1961). Duane Eddy, Rock 'n' Roll's #1 instrumentalist, appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, in August, 1961. By this time Eddy and his backing band The Rebels had accumulated 12 Top 40 hits in just over three years. The personal appearance contract is signed on the front and back of the contract by Eddy, and on the back by three original members of The Rebels, sax man Jim Horn, pianist Larry Knechtel (the legendary session man who was later with Bread and on countless recordings of many other bands), and drummer Jimmy Troxel, as well as Dick Clark himself! The contract has been attractively framed (19.75" x 14.25") with a vintage 7" x 9" b&w photo of Eddy playing his famous "twangy" guitar, and is accompanied by a second framed piece (22" x 14.25" ) with a Near Mint (NM 8) 78 rpm copy of Eddy's first big hit, "Rebel Rouser" (Jamie Records 1104, 1958) and a 7" x 9" b&w photo of Eddy. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA. Requires third party shipping.
