    Description

Dmitri Shostakovich Signed Postcard. Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich was renowned for his 15 symphonies, numerous chamber works, and concerti -- many of them written under the pressures of government-imposed standards for Soviet art. Included here is an undated 4" x 6" postcard written in Russian and signed "D. Shostakovich." It reads in full: "Warmest Greetings to you with the New Year, 1970. I send you the very best wishes." Shostakovich adds his signature again in the return address, underneath the address panel, also done in his hand. Included in the lot is a portrait of the composer. With COA from PSA/DNA.
