Buddy Holly and the Crickets Signed Contract for Biggest Show of Stars (October, 1958). It had been a whirlwind tour year for the Crickets in 1958, and it wasn't slowing down a bit in October. Manager Norman Petty signed the group for a 17-day gig (14 shows per week) with the Biggest Show of Stars, which featured the impressive lineup of the Crickets, Clyde McPhatter, the Everly Brothers, Dion and the Belmonts, Bobby Darin, Bobby Freeman, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Jack Scott, and others. Included is a copy of the contract signed by Norman Petty in Buddy Holly's behalf, an itinerary for the month with engagements scheduled in both the US and Canada, and a copy of a letter from General Artists Corporation which accompanied the contract, dated September 12, 1958 and addressed to Norman Petty.
