Beatles Signed Meet The Beatles LP Obtained on February 9, 1964, by George Harrison's Doctor (Capitol T 2047, 1964), with Caiazzo LOA. This was the first Capitol Beatle album, released in America on January 20, 1964. It was beautifully signed by all four Beatles in blue ink on the back album cover and given to the doctor who treated George Harrison for the flu during their first days in America. As nice a signed Beatles album that you're likely to find, with extremely important provenance and association to the day the Fab Four conquered America. A supremely desirable and rare item that any Beatle fan or collector would covet. We're sure the bidding will be fierce but only one lucky and astute bidder will be able to call this their own. Framed with a second copy of the album (to show the album front) and the LOA from Frank Caiazzo to an overall 41" x 18". Album cover NM 9. LOA From Frank Caiazzo. COA from Heritage Auctions.

The date of February 9, 1964, looms large in Beatle history. Two days previous, they had arrived in America for the first time, not really knowing exactly what to expect. They were booked to play live on the venerable Ed Sullivan Show for the most important performance in their young lives. And George had come down with the flu! A local New York doctor was summoned to the Plaza Hotel to treat him. He was ordered to stay in bed as his bandmates participated in a Central Park photo shoot on the 8th. Early on that Sunday, the 9th, he was still under doctor's orders to stay in bed to the point of missing the performance day rehearsal. He managed to make the live performance that was seen by seventy-three million people. No need to go further; millions of fans know what happened that night and during the fifty-one years since.

Included is a letter of authenticity from leading Beatle expert Frank Caiazzo; it reads, in full: "The purpose of this letter is to serve as authentication of the signatures of the four members of the 'Pop Group' The Beatles. The signatures are on the reverse side of their debut Capitol Records LP in the U.S. 'Meet The Beatles'. All four have signed the back cover in blue ballpoint, with Paul at the top and in descending order followed by Ringo, George and John. This LP was signed on February 9, 1964 - perhaps the single most important day in the history of The Beatles - the day in which they made their first appearance before an American audience on the Ed Sullivan Show, seen by some 73 million people. This LP was signed for, and given to the doctor who was looking after George, who was ill on this particular day. It has not left the New York metropolitan area until this date, October 17, 1995. I hereby guarantee the authenticity of the aforementioned signed 'Meet The Beatles' LP. This guarantee is without time limit."
