Beatles Signed German Train Menu with Hamburg Concert Ticket Stub (June 25-26, 1966), in Matted Display. An 8" x 5.625" (opened) printed foldover lunch menu (in German and English) from the special train that carried the Beatle entourage from Munich to Essen and then to Hamburg for a concert in the city where they spent so much time honing their stage show during their early years as a band. It is neatly autographed around the English translation in blue ballpoint: "John Lennon", "Ringo Starr", "Paul McCartney", and "George Harrison". On the front is printed: "Deutschlandtournee der Liverpooler Beatles. München - Essen - Hamburg. 25. - 25.6 1966" (German Tour of Liverpool's Beatles). Very Fine condition. June 26 Hamburg Ernst Merck Halle: Included is a 5" x 3" red cardstock "Bravo - Beatles - Blitztournee" stub for the 3:00 performance in the "Right Ranks A", 1-13, price DM 20.-. There were 5600 fans at each of the Hamburg shows, the final on this leg of the tour before heading to Japan. Folds and light wear, Fine condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

This short tour was sponsored by the German entertainment magazine Bravo, thus the title Bravo Beatles Blitz Tour. While in Hamburg, John visited Astrid Kirchherr who gave him some letters Stuart Sutcliffe had written just before his death. Astrid and Bert Kaempfert were among the many friends visiting backstage. This was the Beatles' first appearance in Hamburg since 1963, and their last.
