Beatles - Now These Days Are Gone Deluxe Edition #236/2500 (Genesis Publications, 2006). A beautiful oversized (10.5" x 12.75") 256-page book filled with more than 250 images, taken by photographer Michael Peto in 1965, during the shooting of Help! the Beatles second full-length film. Peto was a photojournalist for The Observer, the UK's most prestigious publication for photojournalists, a position that gave him unique access to the Fab Four in the transitional year of 1965, as the group matured from their Beatlemania days and into the critical acclaim of Rubber Soul and beyond. Only a small percentage of the photos Peto took were used by his employer, and he wound up with more than 130,000 prints and negatives, which he bequeathed to The University of Dundee, when he died in 1970. In 2004, archivists discovered hundreds of these unpublished photos, including those featured in this remarkable book published in 2006. The book is signed by Sir Alan Langlands, is bound in full red leather, with gold tooling and gilded edges, and comes with a matching slipcase, with small black & white glossy prints of the individual Beatles on the outside; a black slipcase with Now These Days Are Gone in red lettering, with a red drawstring protect the book. Also included with the this edition are three hand-numbered exclusive black and white prints in a like-numbered red envelope. All are in Excellent condition.
