Description

Beatles - John Lennon / MacLen (Music) Ltd. Signed Check (1970). After February 1971, the monetary system in Great Britain was decimalized, and the shilling was no longer used as a unit of currency. This check, boldly signed "John Lennon" in black ink on behalf of MacLen (Music) Ltd. -- is made out for 12 pounds and 19 shillings (and no pence, as signified by the numeric amount "12-19-0"), and is dated June 3rd, 1970 -- just a few weeks after the public announcement of the Beatles' dissolution. This exceptional Lennon check has been graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA. With the usual bank cancellation marks, including a small red cancellation stroke to the last name, and two filing holes at the top. Housed in a PSA/DNA slab case. COA from Heritage Auctions.
