Beatles - George Harrison Signed 1964 John Lennon-Designed Christmas Card to Arthur Kelly and Family, With Original Mailing Envelope (Surrey, December 22, 1964). A 10.5" x 7.25" foldover card with artwork on the front identical to that used in the 1964-5 "Another Beatles Christmas Show" programme. On the inside is printed "Christmas Greetings" below which is written in blue ballpoint: "To Arthur, Paul, Fred, Barbara, Red, and my/ favorite coffee maker - Mrs. Kelly. I still haven't/ forgotten the lot of you, and I will see you/ next time I'm around. All the Best from/ George". The envelope is addressed in George's handwriting, bears two stamps, and is postmarked twice: Esher, Sussex on December 22 and Liverpool on December 28th. Arthur Kelly was a boyhood friend of Harrison's; they played together in George's first band, the Rebels. Card has tiny staple holes at the fold and what looks like a small lip print just touching the "George", overall Fine. Envelope open on three sides, worn, and folded, overall Very Good. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

This Christmas card was mailed by George from his first home, Kinfauns, located on the Claremont Estate in Esher, Surrey. He had purchased it in July of that year for £20,000 on the advice of the Beatles' accountant Dr. Walter Strach. His future wife Pattie Boyd moved in with him a few months later and they lived there until 1970 when he purchased Friar Park. It was conveniently located to his bandmates and was a place they all gathered quite often. Of note: many of the demos for the "White Album" were recorded there on Harrison's Ampex reel-to-reel.
