Beatles - Early Signatures Including Pete Best and Neil Aspinall (Doncaster, August 8, 1962). A 5" x 4" green sheet, the back of a partial flyer/ticket stub for the Beatles appearance with the Mal Parker Four at the Doncaster Co-op Ballroom on Wednesday, August 8, 1962. A great set of autographs in blue ballpoint: "George Harrison xxxxxx/ love to Pauline". "love to Pauline from John Lennon xxx", "love to Pauline from Paul McCartney xxx", "Love to Pauline from Neil Aspinall" (black ink), and "Love to Pauline from Pete Best xxx". This was just one week before Pete Best would play his last show with the band. He was sacked on August 16, 1962, and Ringo played his first official gig as a Beatle on August 18th. These were obtained by a young lady who frequented Doncaster venues obtaining autographs of the hit groups of the day. Included with this piece is a copy of a handwritten letter from Pauline herself discussing how she obtained them. She mentions in it that Cynthia Lennon was with John at this performance (fifteen days before their marriage). Two folds, a bit of wear, overall Fine. COA from Heritage Auctions.

Excerpts from included copy of Pauline's letter: "My friend and I spent most of our teens following all the groups who came to Doncaster. We collected autographs every time we went to see the groups and I did have most of the popular bands of the time... The night we met the band was at the Co-op ballroom on August 8, 1962. As usual we went backstage to meet them (they had been wandering about the dance hall all night when they weren't playing). I remember Cynthia Lennon being backstage as well. We collected the autographs and chatted with the boys for some time. My friend said Paul McCartney had asked her to go for a drink and I told her she wasn't leaving me!!! We went home and couldn't stop talking about the fantastic group we had seen..."
