Beatles Beautiful Set of Signatures in Matted Display (Glasgow, April 29-30, 1964). Ballpoint ink signatures of all four Beatles on a 5.625" x 3.125" (sight size) white card. Obtained while in Glasgow, late April 1964, by a member of the female pop duo The McKinleys (on the back of one of their promo photos). It is double matted to an overall 11.75" x 15.75" with a great 7.75" x 6.25" B&W glossy photo of the Beatles holding a large stuffed Panda Bear toy. This photo is stamped "Copyright by Uwe Blaschke" and also signed/dated by him on the verso. Signatures Very Fine with light wear. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

There is an interesting history behind the "Panda Bear" photo. The Beatles were playing a date at the Manchester Apollo on November 20, 1963. A group of local girls couldn't get tickets but stopped by the theater to drop off this stuffed animal as a gift to their favorite band. The bear was taken from them at the stage door and they were denied admittance. A local reporter got wind of the story and managed to get them inside to present the Panda to the Beatles, have their pictures taken with them, and even receive concert tickets. This concert was being filmed by Pathé for a newsreel "The Beatles Come To Town" so the scene was well-documented. After the photos, John commandeered the bear to take home as a toy for son Julian and there are multiple photos extant of them with it. The same toy was used as a prop for a famous portrait of John taken at his home in 1965 by photographer Robert Freeman.
