    Description

Beatles Autographed Newspaper And Paul McCartney Items from the Filming of HELP! The consignor of the photographs in the previous lot came home from the Bahamas with a few more Beatle souvenirs which are being offered in this lot. Her first encounter with the group occurred when the boat which brought the cast back from Paradise Island came in, and she received autographs from all four members and Victor Spinetti on a newspaper. But not before she and her sister had a sit in the sportscar which was awaiting Paul at the marina, in which she helped herself to a few souvenirs - Paul's call sheet for the previous day's filming, and an empty pack of cigarettes. (Paul can be seen in the car in several of the photographs in the preceding lot). The autographed newspaper is the Bahamas Weekly, measuring 12" x 18" and dated February 28, 1965, which has a large photo of the Beatles and Eleanor Bron on the cover. All four Beatles have signed in ink in the top half, as has Spinetti. A fifth autograph from a US disc jockey was added later, when the consignor was invited to a hometown radio station to recount her Beatle adventures. The newspaper is in Good condition, with yellowing from age and wear at the edges and along the fold, but no tears to the autographed area. The call sheet is dated February 28, 1965 and measures 8" x 13". The film is still being referred to as "BEATLES TWO", not HELP! In Good condition with numerous folds, and some tears and staining, but fully legible, photocopied with some handwritten additions in ink. The cigarette pack is a standard sized Peter Stuyvesant brand with a BOAC label at the top. Includes a Letter of Provenance from the consignor recounting her Beatles encounter in the Bahamas.
