    Description

Beatles and Time Magazine 1964 Interview Typescript and 1963 Letter from Louise Harrison Caldwell to their Entertainment Editor. An interesting and historical grouping. George Harrison's older sister Louise lived in Illinois, and in July 1963 she wrote a letter to Time Magazine in an attempt to get her brother's band noticed in America and to clear up that "From Me to You" was actually a Beatles song, not Del Shannon's. Three handwritten and signed pages with great content. Also, a period carbon copy of a Time interview with the Beatles conducted in New York, August 29, 1964, by Carol-Ann Carpentieri. Included is a list of all her questions and the numbered answers from Ringo and John. She didn't get to ask Paul or George these questions, but did talk to Paul a bit as well as to manager Brian Epstein. Her typed comments are great. Regarding John, she writes: "Seems to be quite shy to me. Was cooperative, but looked tired. Dressed neat, hair also pretty neat. He has a sharp sense of humor..." Regarding Ringo: "Very warm. Has an air of confidence around him. Looked wide awake, dressed very neatly... Hair neat but long. Nose outstanding, but cute, beautiful eyes. Quick thinker. Very polite..." Also included is an unpublished letter Louise wrote to Carol shortly after that, saying that she was glad that Carol got to do the interview and that Louise had been giving Epstein tips on how to promote the Beatles in America. All in Fine condition.
