Allman Brothers - A Rare Allman Joys Signed Photograph. Before Duane and Gregg Allman formed the Allman Brothers Band, they performed in a local Florida group that also bore their surname: The Allman Joys. This rare band publicity photo from the mid-60s shows the group, still mere teenagers, and likely feeing the impact of the Beatles based on their hairstyles and collarless suits. The photo is signed on the reverse by both Duane and Gregg, as well as bassist Bob Keller and drummer Maynard Portwood. According to the included letter of provenance from the consignor, the autographs were obtained at a club in Daytona Beach which was very dimly lit, which may explain why Gregg and Duane's signatures are partially overlapped - or was it a conscious symbol of brotherly bonding? The glossy finish photo is in Good condition with no fading, measuring approximately 3.5" x 5", with creasing throughout and loss at the top and bottom, and also a tear at the bottom from staple removal. A remarkable artifact! LOA from PSA/DNA. COA From Heritage Auctions.
