    Vintage photographic views (450+) of Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and elsewhere in Europe including Royals and people of note. (ca. 1875-1900) A large collection of (450+) primarily Albumen vintage photographic prints ranging in size from approx. 8 x 10 in. to 15.5 x 11 in., including: photographs of Italy featuring an extensive array of architectural studies, both interior and exterior, an assortment of compelling Venetian canal scapes, images of Florence and other views from additional Italian provinces. Photographs of France feature a variety of animated Parisian street scenes. There are also a number of architectural and landscape views of outlying areas within the French Republic. Also included is a vintage photograph of the infamous "En Train dans La Rue" of October 22nd, 1895, which depicts a locomotive that has crashed through the train station wall and fallen into the street below. Photographs of Spain feature architectural and street scenes capturing the Moorish influence on the built environment with both interior and exterior views highlighted. Photographs of The United Kingdom feature an interior view of the Metropolitan Tabernacle by George Washington Wilson, Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee parade, a harbor scape entitled "On the Mersey at Liverpool" by James Valentine, a dockside view from the Isle of Jersey, an aerial view of the Cavan Lakes in Ireland, a building façade of the offices of the White Star Line, an oversize print of the British Museum, 2-beachside studies of Weston-Super-Mare the beachfront, highlighting wardrobe and methods of transportation from the period and a news reel enlargement titled "The British Naval Victory Off The Falklands: The Beginning And The End" (1915). Other locations represented in this lot include Central and Northern European views including Sweden, Holland, Austria, Finland, Switzerland, Germany and Bohemia. Photographs of Royalty and people of note include Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie, the Queen of Belgium, a signed photographic portrait of Henry Irving by Window & Grove, London, a photographic portrait of Anton Seidl, (2) photographic portraits 1-of Richard Strauss and 1-of Titta Ruffo by Kossuth and a photographic portrait of Gustav Dorè by Nadar. All photos remain in general good to very good condition. Some images exhibit handling creases, surface abrasions and general ware due to age. Special shipping arrangements will apply.
