    United States-shaped "suitcase" carried by Stan Freberg on the album covers of "Stan Freberg Presents: The United States of America: Volumes 1 & 2". (1961) This custom-made, wooden suitcase in the shape of the United States of America was created by Capital Records for Stan Freberg to hold on the original 1961 album cover of "Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America". It appeared on the cassette covers, and Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of the CD covers. Stan's reaction to being presented with the suitcase by Capital was "It's perfect!" Consisting of a 32 x 19 x 2.25 in. jigsaw cut map suitcase is actually a prop with a blank, hollow verso and a leather suitcase handle attached at the top. The 48 contiguous states are represented in colorful hand-painted blocks on illustration board affixed to the facade of the prop. Exhibiting some signs of age and wear and minor material loss to face. In overall vintage good condition. Comes with an LOA from Stan Freberg. Special shipping arrangements will apply.
