Description
Tom Cruise "Lestat" Stage 1 animatronic head from Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles. (Warner Bros., 1994) Original animatronic "Lestat" (Cruise) head used in the scene where "Claudia" (Kristen Dunst) slits his throat. Constructed of cast silicone skin impregnated in nylon base and hyper-realistically finished with glass eyes, internal fangs, sculpted cut throat and theatrical blood remnants. The "skin" is affixed over an internal animatronic armature that could be operated remotely. Back of head features a zipper for access to interior mechanicals. Electronics untested. An early stage death scene prop in which Lestat ages as he bleeds out. The number "1" is handwritten on bottom of plastic. Exhibiting deterioration and cracking to silicone skin.
