    Description
Tom Cruise "Ethan Hunt" stunt SFX Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle from the iconic chase sequence in Mission: Impossible 2. (Paramount, 2000) Without question, one of the most exhilarating action sequences in the entire Mission: Impossible franchise is the remarkable John Woo-directed motorcycle chase from M:I-2 - the highest-grossing film for the year 2000. This "process motorcycle" is a real Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle with the engine/transmission removed and replaced with an identical looking hollow fiberglass engine. An elaborate mobile camera rig was mounted to the armature hidden within the hollow engine. Tom Cruise was astride the motorcycle while it was towed low to the ground (and at close range), giving the illusion he is actually riding the bike. The prominence of the role the jet-black Triumph motorcycle plays in the film is evident with it being featured on the movie's posters and other promotional materials. Exhibits production wear (with faux bullet hole detail on the muffler!) and black gaffer's tape applied to the black vinyl seat. Measures 79.5 x 53 in. Comes with a LOA from New Line signed by company president Jim Rosenthal. Sold on bill of sale only.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
