    Description

The Twilight Zone Futuristic City and Dennis the Menace Night View of Town Matte Paintings (Various, 1985-1993). Matte painting accomplished in mixed media on 76.5" x 41.5". Masonite in pine frame.

One of two mattes created for the episode "Examination Day" (1985) to establish an optimistic world that appears to embrace advancement of knowledge and superior aptitude in its youth as determined by government-mandated IQ tests. A separate painting was created for a day shot like this view in the same episode.

On the reverse is a matte for the film Dennis the Menace (1993). Several small, very precise holes were made into a few places in the painting to give an added luminosity to the illustration during filming. Twilight by Syd Dutton, Dennis painting by Robert Stromberg.

In Very Good Plus condition exhibiting expected production wear, minor scuffing, and possible corner bumping and soiling. COA from Heritage Auctions.
