The Ten Commandments Miniature Egyptian Chariot from the Red Sea sequence. (Paramount, 1956) Vintage original model miniature functioning chariot constructed of bent wicker wood body, thatched woven side panels, a wicker wood hitching post, 2-wooden spoked 11 in. wheels, detailed with a spear sheath affixed to the right side of the chariot by leather ties. The entire model measures 47.25 x 26 x 16.75 in. Wheels are affixed to a wooden axle extending through the bottom of the chariot. The model is expertly studio detailed with the hallmark design and motif elements for which the classic epic film is famous. Model retains its balance and function and rolls evenly when pulled. A tuft of red fleece caps the coupling end of the hitching post. Used to force perspective in the iconic "parting of the Red Sea" sequence. Exhibiting production use, wear, age, rubbing and some paint loss. In overall production-used vintage very good condition.
