Star Trek: The Next Generation Matte Painting of Melona IV and Delta Rana IV From Episodes "Silicon Avatar" and "The Survivors" (Paramount TV, 1987-1994). Matte painting accomplished in mixed media on 96" x 48". Masonite, flush with pine frame. Created by Illusion Arts.

For "Silicon Avatar" (1991), this painting was filmed with added foreground miniatures to create depth to the desolate scene, and was utilized for an establishing shot of Delta Rana IV in the earlier episode "The Survivors" (1989). Sky blue paint from the earlier underpainting is still visible at the top of this matte. The glass cut-out for its use as Delta Rana IV is intact, but is painted over as part of its later transformation to Melona IV. The cut-out is approximately 10.5" x 7.25" with original cel of cast member reverse-silhouettes as they were beamed into the grassy area for "The Survivors."

In Very Good Plus condition exhibiting expected production wear, minor scuffing, possible corner bumping and soiling. This lot requires third party shipping from Los Angeles, CA. COA from Heritage Auctions.
