Star Trek - Gene Roddenberry Two Typed Letters Signed (1965 / 1967). "Gene Roddenberry." Both letters are addressed to art and set designer, Matt Jefferies. In the first letter, one page, 8.5" x 11", March 5, 1965, on Desilu Productions Inc. letterhead, Roddenberry thanks Jefferies for his work on the production, saying: "I've owed you this letter of gratitude for some time. Actually, I've been waiting in the hopes that the future of STAR TREK would firm up and this letter could include a call on your services. Will let you know the moment anything definite happens..." In the second letter, dated March 14, 1967, on Star Trek stationary, Roddenberry relates the news of Star Trek receiving a second season. He writes, "Please take this letter as a hearty congratulation for your part in winning the renewal, and also as a warm invitation from Gene Coon, Bob Justman, as well as myself, to rejoin the best Crew in Television when it begins production again. Hopefully, this past season was but the first of many more seasons to come for all of us." The letters are in Very Fine condition, with mild toning and soiling, flattened mail folds, and three hole punches along the left side on each. COA from heritage Auctions.

Provenance: From the collection of Space and Aviation collector, Rick Cigel.
