Snow globe and war room flying saucer screen-used props from Mars Attacks! (Warner Bros., 1996) A pair of highly visible screen-used props from the Tim Burton Sci-Fi comedy based on the cult trading cards series, Mars Attacks! Both props are visible in the war room sequence when "President Dale" (Jack Nicholson) is visited by conquering space aliens preceded by a snow globe tossed into the war room. The globe rolls and comes to a stop on a large strategic map with spaceship markers representing invaders. This is the snow globe used in close up insert shots and one of the flying saucers seen on the war room floor map. The globe consists of a 5 in. round glass orb with internal cast resin "Martian" on red rocky terrain, filled with water with green glitter. The bottom of the globe is sealed with a silicone plug. The flying saucer is a 6 x 3.5 in. solid cast resin prop painted metallic silver. Both props remain in very good condition with the globe exhibiting some water loss and cloudiness from evaporation.
