Description
River Phoenix "Young Indy" whip from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. River Phoenix "Young Indy" whip from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. (Paramount, 1989) River Phoenix plays "Young Indy" in the 3rd installment in the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This whip is used in the sequence portraying Indy's first encounter with his signature whip in a boxcar, faced with a lion. We even learn where Indy's famous chin scar comes from as his teenaged counterpart, not quite adjusted to the weapon, accidentally whips himself in the face. Constructed of hand-woven strands of black kangaroo hide wrapped to a painted red handle and black pommel, the whip measures approx. 10 ft. in total length. Highly visible in the film and in the behind the scenes DVD extras where Phoenix can be seen working with the whip. Exhibiting production wear and some rubbing. Comes with a COA signed by John Hagner of the Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame stating this whip was received from Vic Armstrong, the film's stunt coordinator. A rare treasure from one of the most beloved action-adventure franchises of all time.
