A Montgomery Clift Large Personal Record Collection, 1940s-1960s. Seven boxes full of record albums, most not with their original jackets anymore as Clift put them in albums made specifically for vinyl storage, covering a wide range of genres as would be expected of a sophisticated man of stage and screen including popular music, Classical music, jazz, Broadway soundtracks, Hollywood film soundtracks, spoken word, etc., some examples of what the actor listened to include (in alphabetical order): Aida, Bunny Berigan, Brahms, Bing Crosby, Debussy, Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice, Fiesta in Cuba, Ella Fitzgerald, Lynn Fontanne, The Glass Menagerie, Gone with the Wind, Hamlet, The King and I, The Kingsmen, Macbeth, Mozart, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, Porgy & Bess, Katherine Anne Porter, Rachmaninoff, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Frank Sinatra, Leopold Stokowski, Tchaikovsky, and Dylan Thomas among countless others to numerous to list here; also included are a number of acetates, possibly recordings of Clift himself, one in particular is annotated "Bugle / Rehearsal" -- likely used by Clift for his role of "Robert E. Lee Prewitt" in the 1953 Columbia film, "From Here to Eternity;" from the estate of Clift's twin sister who inherited this collection after his death in 1966. (Please note an exact count of records is unknown; the condition of them is also unknown -- please bid accordingly.)
