DescriptionTim Robbins "Andy Dufresne" Screen-Used Hero Rock Hammer from The Shawshank Redemption (Castle Rock, 1994). Original rock hammer used by "Andy Dufresne" (Tim Robbins) in Frank Darabont's classic prison film. This is one of three screen-used hero rock hammers from the film, each of which was depicted in a different state of advancing wear. (The metal head of each hammer showed greater deterioration and diminishing size to accurately reflect the story's 20-year span.) This 7" x 4" x .05" rock hammer is of the third stage as seen in the film. There was a fourth "stunt" rock hammer with the head crafted of aluminum, which was given to author Stephen King as a personal gift from the film's director, Frank Darabont. In Very Good condition. Accompanied by a Prop Master's order sheet, which includes the hammer, and a Castle Rock Entertainment LOA stating that the hammer was used in production. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
