Description

The Strain (FX, 2014-2017), Robert Maillet "The Master" Vampire Makeup Master Reference Bust. This impressive bust was created as a reference piece for the character's distinctive and terrifying makeup. The bust is crafted from silicone skin mounted over rigid polyurethane foam, expertly painted in disturbing, corpse-like tones to capture the grotesque aesthetic of the ancient vampire leader. It features resin vampire incisors to complete the fearsome visage of the character. The bust features the actor Robert Maillet's nose, however, it was digitally removed when the character appears on screen. The Master, also known as Sariel, is the primary antagonist and the original Strigoi responsible for unleashing the vampiric plague across New York City. Also included is a rare Advance Reader's Edition paperback of The Strain (William Morrow, 2009), co-authored by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. This special copy features an original hand-drawn sketch by Guillermo del Toro depicting The Master feeding with his stinger appendage, boldly signed and dated "Guillermo del Toro '25" on the title page. The bust measures approximately 25" x 13" x 23.5" and exhibits minor scuffing to the paint from production or handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.

"The Strain describes the Master as having no nose. We designed the makeup to include one, just in case we ran out of digital budget for removal. Like Santi's head, this is a master paint bust that serves as a guide to all the fabricators of prosthetic pieces and the ultimate color guide in painting the Master's prosthetics."
From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
