The Iconic Machete from "Rambo" (aka "Rambo 4"). Steel blade, handle with layers of black duct tape, string tied to end of handle, with brown leather sheaf which has leather twine tied to one end and a khaki utility belt attached to the other; duct tape on back of sheath has handwritten annotation reading "Rambo / Hero;" used by Stallone as "John Rambo;" Stallone proudly displayed this in his home since filming wrapped.
Knife Length: 17"; Sheath Length: 18"

"For Rambo 4, I knew that dramatically we had to do something quite different. Rambo doesn't have much time to forge a blade so what he takes is a piece of metal spring from a car and fashions it into this incredible lethal weapon. I got the idea from actual knife hacking competitions where blades such as these are able to slice through very thick rope. The whole point is that while this knife is being made on camera, Rambo finally admits that he's really not a victim of his military training but that he actually has the killer instinct; it's just part of who he is. This blade symbolizes that and it's used with great effectiveness in the film. I wanted this piece to be one for just close contact - no frills, nothing. It was meant for mayhem. It took a long time to come up with the balance and feel of this knife. -- the knife-maker must have gone through 20 prototypes before we came to this one. I also use this knife in two of the most crucial moments of the final scene. Of all the knives I've ever worked with, this thing was literally with me, at my side, for four months. I never took it off, except to sleep!"
