    Description

Star Trek: The Next Generation Matte Paintings By Dan Curry from the Show's Final Scene and Eye Line Alignment Art Used for Several Episodes (1987-1994). Includes three gorgeous background matte paintings measuring 48" x 40", rendered on foam board with gouache by TNG visual effects supervisor Dan Curry, used in the final scene of "All Good Things..." the show's last episode. These paintings - each signed by Curry at the bottom right - could be seen as the Enterprise flies into space in the final shot before the ending credits. Also included is eye line alignment art for the main viewer of the bridge on the Enterprise. A technique invented by Curry used on many episodes throughout the show's seven season run, it was executed by Dan Curry on lighting gel in grease pencil. The cut out "window" was used to make sure characters seen on the main view screen, shot separately on a later date, are looking correctly at the characters on the bridge while speaking. Signed "Dan Curry" in black felt tip. Measures 22" x 19". All items in Fine condition, with the matte paintings exhibiting some edge and corner wear, with some edge chipping. One painting has a minor area of surface loss directly beneath the signature and another at the top-right corner. COA from Heritage Auctions. .
