Planet of the Apes Screen-Worn Chimpanzee costume. From the original 1968 classic Planet of the Apes, its sequels, and the television show, this is an original screen worn male chimpanzee costume on a life-sized display based on the character of Cornelius. This screen worn costume was used by male chimpanzee characters throughout the movie and television franchise. The five-piece costume includes a khaki green cloth tunic with leather around the upper middle chest, back, shoulder and neck areas and a few leather patch designs along the arms. Reddish knitted wool protrudes from under the sleeve cuffs. Finishing out the costume an original pair of khaki green cloth trousers and a pair of "ape boots". Included with the costume to enhance your display is a mannequin body which has been customized with a silicon chimpanzee character head made from Roddy McDowall's mold. The head is detailed with hand-punched human hair and prosthetic grade glass eyes. A pair of rubber hands covered with human hair completes the display. The original screen-worn chimpanzee costume, as well as the display piece are all in Very Fine condition. Requires third party shipping from Beverly Hills.
