Eastwood starred and directed Pale Rider which became the highest-grossing Western film of the 1980s. The film deepened the archetype of Eastwood's "mysterious drifter" by giving The Preacher character (Eastwood) supernatural overtones, making it both a traditional Western and an allegorical tale. This Remington 1858 New Model Army revolver was one of six rented to the production by Stembridge Gun Rentals, to be used as The Preacher's primary firearm. Includes Certificates of De-Activation from London Proof House for the revolver (43525) and the two cylinders (061107). Also, an inventory list from Stembridge Gun Rentals, dated September 10, 1984, addressed to Warner Bros. In the description field of the list, serial number 43525 is circled on line number 28.
