Oklahoma! Playbills from Watchmen, Episode 1: "It's Summer and We're Running Out of Ice" (HBO® Original, 2019). Original signature pieces including (6) Oklahoma! Playbills, made for the production. The themes of Oklahoma! are persistent throughout the season of Watchmen including the title of the pilot, which is a lyric from the original song, "Pore Jud is daid," and can be heard in the final scene of the pilot, as the camera pans up over a tree, and we see a dead "Judd Crawford" (Don Johnson) hanged. It's no coincidence that "Judd Crawford's" (Johnson) name was closely similar to "Jud Fry" and that "Judd Crawford" even confesses he played "Curly" in high school and proceeds to sing "People Will Say We're in Love". In another nod to Oklahoma! "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" is heard in the final episode, "See How the Fly" as "Sister Night" (Regina King) leaves the Dreamland Theatre with her children and grandfather in tow. Playbills are in Fine to Very Fine condition; cover was made for the production; internal pages are filler. Approx. 8.25" X 5.25". Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
