Description

Naked Lunch (TCF 1991), Hanging Mugwump. Original foam rubber and latex Mugwump prop measuring approx. 80" x 20" x 18", built over interior metal armature with acrylic blue eyes, expertly crafted and painted by studio experts. The prop includes a metal chain and a leather harness for hanging it upside down from the ceiling. Designed by the renowned special effects experts Chris Walas and Steven DuPuis, this mugwump was conceived for filmmaker David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch-a surreal interpretation of the life and stories of beat author William S. Burroughs. The design of the mugwump, based on Burroughs' thin and aged face, is prominently featured in a bizarre scene where William Lee (Peter Weller) walks through a bazaar and where addicts receive their drug fixes from these massive creatures hanging overhead. Prop exhibits some flaking of the foam throughout, along with small holes near the elbows where the metal has poked through. Special shipping arrangements will apply. Obtained from CWI.
