Iconic Cast and Crew-Signed Joke Wall Door from Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (NBC TV, 1967-1973). This hexagonal-shaped door is from the show's iconic, yet psychedelic "joke wall" segment, which was one of the show's hallmark visual sequences. The show's cast members would pop through a door in the wall to tell a quick joke or a one-liner at the close of most, or all, episodes. This wooden door is hand-painted with a stylized apricot-orange flower with an orange border on a sky-blue background. The obverse is inscribed and signed by numerous cast and crew members and inscribed to the show's producer and writer, Paul Keyes (52 episodes between 1967-1970) in various shades of ink. Some of the signatures include Lucille [Arnaz] Ball, Tom Brokaw, Ruth Buzzi, Gary Owens, and network executive Bob Howard, who writes of the hugely popular series, "I told you it wouldn't last!" It still bears its original metal hinges, as well as a metal handle for quick open and closure. Measures 25 1/2 in. x 25 1/2 in. Acquired from Paul W. Keyes.
