I Dream of Jeannie (NBC TV, 1965-1970), Barbara Eden "Jeannie" Ornate Screen Used Prop Genie Bottle. Vintage original genie bottle prop used during production of the iconic NBC sitcom. Repurposed from a 1964 Jim Beam "Beam's Choice" Christmas edition glass whiskey decanter, the piece was studio-painted in shimmering purple with orange, green, and gold-toned highlights in a Middle Eastern-inspired design. It includes the original painted, flared-glass removable stopper. Jeannie's (Barbara Eden) bottle is among the most instantly recognizable props in television history, introduced in the show's pilot and carried throughout the series. The bottle's paint scheme changed after the the show's black-and-white first season and remained consistent through seasons 2-5. At the series' end, special effects specialist Richard Albain gifted this specific bottle to Joseph Goodson, associate producer on 26 episodes of the fifth and final season. In 2025, Goodson reunited with star Barbara Eden, who signed the bottle in silver and black felt-tip ink on both the side and bottom: "Barbara Eden / 'Jeannie'". Measuring approx. 14" x 5", the bottle is housed in a 16.5" x 10" custom-made, hard transport case wrapped in brown leather with black faux-leather handles, gold-toned hardware, and red fabric interior. Notably, the case was previously owned by Barbara Eden and used to carry her personal "Jeannie" bottle-donated to the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History in 2022. This lot includes letters of authenticity and provenance from both Barbara Eden and Joseph Goodson. The bottle displays expected signs of production use and age, including light scuffing on the base (with smudging), light surface scuffs, residue on base, and minor paint chipping.
