Description

Hellboy (Columbia, 2004), Set of (3) "Special" 22mm Samaritan Bullets. Set of (3) custom-made 2.25" x 1" hand-tooled brass projectiles with lead bullets and faux primers, fused together and etched with "BPRD," "22mm," and a stylized mystical symbol resembling the initials "DT"-possibly a tongue-in-cheek reference to director Guillermo del Toro. Each bullet features a brass casing and comes in custom blister packaging labeled "KBS-13," with an "S-78" stamp and "Manufactured in Japan" printed on the card. 1-bullet remains sealed in its original packaging, while the other 2- have been opened. These oversized rounds were designed for use in Hellboy's (Ron Perlman) iconic revolver, the Samaritan-a weapon envisioned by del Toro to reflect the fusion of sacred and profane elements used by the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) to combat supernatural threats. According to Hellboy's DVD special features, the Samaritan's "double-impact chassis" was hand-forged in 1956 from a sacred alloy of church bells, holy silver, crusade blades, cannonballs, and amulets, infused with incantations, cooled in sage water, and finished by hand. The Samaritan's specialized variants (like tracking bullets and multipurpose rounds filled with holy water, clover leaf, silver shavings, and white oak) are hand-crafted by Hellboy himself. 2- of the blister packs have been opened, with cardboard backing showing light bending, creasing, and minor metal staining. Bullets exhibit scuffing to the exterior casing. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
