Eddard "Ned" Stark (Sean Bean) Hero Longsword, Scabbard and Belt from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 1). Original hero longsword measuring 43.5" x 8.5", studio-crafted from aluminum with a rubber handle painted to resemble iron and wood. Includes a wood and stamped leather scabbard measuring 34.5" x 2.5" with a brass chape, leather ties, and pewter wolf accoutrements. The sword hangs on a stamped leather belt featuring miniature pewter wolf sigil accents, brass grommets, and a pewter buckle. Ned Stark's hero longsword hangs by his side throughout Season 1 and is prominently featured in his fateful confrontation with Jaime Lannister in Season 1, Episode 5, "The Wolf and the Lion." In this intense battle, Ned Stark (Sean Bean) overpowers Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) with his strength and skill. Just as he is about to secure victory, a Lannister soldier intervenes, thrusting a spear into the back of Ned's leg, turning the tide of the fight. Tommy Dunne, the show's armorer, explained the challenges of creating such iconic weapons: "We had to ensure the swords were both historically accurate and safe for the actors to use in combat. Each piece was crafted with care, often involving a mix of traditional techniques and modern safety standards." Stunt coordinator Paul Herbert added, "Sean and Nikolaj trained extensively for this scene. Their dedication to performing the stunts themselves added a layer of authenticity that really brought the fight to life." Sean Bean stated, "It was a brutal and exhausting day of filming. The intensity of the fight and the weight of the longsword added a palpable realism to the scene.'" Exhibits production wear and scuffing, with blue residue at the top of handle.
