Burgess Meredith "Mickey" in His Youth Prop Photograph from Rocky (United Artists, 1976). Vintage original studio-generated 10.5" x 8" photograph of a young "Mickey" created by artfully superimposing a youthful image of actor Burgess Meredith's face on the image of an old-time boxer's body. Expertly studio distressed, folded and theatrically soiled to appear vintage and weathered. Highly visible in the scene when "Mickey" (Meredith) takes it out of his coat to show "Rocky" (Sylvester Stallone) what he himself looked like as a young, scrappy boxer. After production, this photo remained on display in Stallone's home for many years. The instantly recognizable photo represents the most important bonding moment between "Rocky" and "Mickey" who had been perceived enemies until this event. When Rocky realizes the parallels between Mickey's descent into obscurity for lack of support, Rocky decides he won't suffer the same fate and becomes allied with Mickey. As fans of "Rocky" know, this relationship affects the trajectory of the entire beloved franchise. In production used Fine condition.
