Ben-Hur (MGM, 1959), Roman Soldier Metal Helmet. Vintage original metal Roman soldier helmet from William Wyler's epic 1959 production of Ben-Hur featuring hinged temple guards, static visor, and plume-tray atop crown holding a red, bristle-brush plume. Vintage original leather chinstrap present although detached from one side. Measures approx. 15" x 10" x 7" including mohawk plume. Exhibits production wear including bumps and scuffs to exterior as well as aging including oxidation of metal, fading to gold-toned plating, stiffening and color fade to bristle plume, and wear to the chinstrap. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
