This lot was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by the niece of Dorothy Ponedel, a make-up artist at MGM who became good friends with Judy Garland after working on many of her films. Throughout the years, Garland gave numerous items to Ponedel as souvenirs from the movies they made together, including these two utilitarian pieces -- though how or why Judy got them off the set remains unknown!
