Watering can made of tin, standard design, heavily rusted due to age, handwritten annotation in black paint by spout reads "2 15;" shovel made of metal with a wooden handle, standard design, very heavily rusted and splintered due to age; watering can used by the star as she portrayed "Jane" in the scene where she puts water into her new tractor while singing 'Howdy Neighbor;' shovel seems to be one of a few leaning against a pole in "Orville's" [Eddie Bracken] store that he trips over on his way to tell dad that "Jane" wants a tractor.
    Can: Approximately 12" x 13" x 8"; Shovel: 38 1/2"

    PROVENANCE:
This lot was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by the niece of Dorothy Ponedel, a make-up artist at MGM who became good friends with Judy Garland after working on many of her films. Throughout the years, Garland gave numerous items to Ponedel as souvenirs from the movies they made together, including these two utilitarian pieces -- though how or why Judy got them off the set remains unknown!
