Description

A Frank Sinatra Pair of Miniature Gaming Tables, Circa 1950s. Both made of wood with felt and paint adornment, one a craps table and one a roulette table which has a small metal placard reading "Wilbur Clark's / Desert Inn / Las Vegas, Nevada;" likely gifted to Sinatra when he performed there and then gifted by the singer to Elvina Joubert, his maid of 30+ years.
    Both Approximately: 8" x 18" x 8"

Like all early Vegas hotels, the Desert Inn has a storied past. According to Wikipedia, "The Desert Inn's most famous guest, Howard Hughes, arrived on Thanksgiving Day 1966, renting the hotel's entire top two floors. After staying past his initial ten-day reservation, he was asked to leave in December so that the resort could accommodate the high rollers who had been promised those suites. Instead of leaving, Hughes decided to start negotiations to buy the Desert Inn and on March 1, 1967, Hughes purchased the resort from original owner Moe Dalitz for around $13 million."
