Description

"Victor Van Dort" and "Emily the Corpse Bride" (2) Hero Stop-Motion Puppets from Corpse Bride (Warner Bros., 2005). Original set of (2) hero puppets constructed of foam latex and silicone over articulating steel ball and socket armatures constructed by Mackinnon and Saunders of Altrincham, England. These hero stop-motion puppets are more elaborate than previous incarnations of such puppets in that a "Gear and Paddle" mechanism was introduced allowing intricate movements of the faces to be manipulated and controlled via the turning of a tiny screw concealed in the puppets' heads. The screw moves a complicated system of gears that activates a paddle to achieve lifelike expressions. The main bodies are more traditional poseable stainless-steel frame armatures. (1) "Van Dort" figure stands approx. 18.5. tall x 2" x 3," dressed in foam and fabric costume, affixed to a 6.75" x 6.75" x 1" base and accompanied by 29-additional expression-changing eyelids in their original case. The figure holds a removable metal and wood BBQ fork, and (1) "The Corpse Bride" figure stands approx. 18.5. tall x 9" x 19" including train, dressed in an exquisite foam and fabric flowing costume, affixed to a 10" x 25" x 1" base and accompanied by 26-additional expression-changing eyelids in their original case. The figure holds a removable bridal bouquet. The "Van Dort" figure exhibits some fine cracks in the back of neck and one finger, while the "Corpse Bride" exhibits some minor wear and peeling to the toes of the shoes. Both were used in key scenes during animation production and remain in Fine condition. From the collection of the movie's director Mike Johnson. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
