Description

"Rambo III" Prototype Wood Knife Signed and Inscribed by Gil Hibben. 17-3/4 inches in overall length. One-piece wood prototype with each spot labeled in pencil. Left side of blade marked: MIRROR POLISHED / SATIN FINISH / POLISH. Also inscribed: RAMBO III PROTOTYPE / GIL HIBBEN 1-17-87. Handle marked: STEEL / BLACK SPACER / IRON WOOD / STEEL. A very rare and unique piece of Stallone history. Some noticeable spotting and staining to left side. Contained in original Hibben Knives soft case labeled RAMBO III; Gil Hibben sent these prototype knives directly to Stallone for his modification and approval before the final versions were made for film use; Stallone then kept them in his personal collection as he is an avid knife enthusiast.

"When I was working with Gil Hibben, we wanted to come up with a classic knife, something that harkened back to real Americana such as a Bowie knife, and this is the incredible creation that Gil came up with. He first rendered it in wood so we could easily make changes to it; then of course, the steel versions came later."
