"Rambo III" Prototype Gil Hibben Throwing Bowie Knife with Extremely Rare Blade Attachment. 17-1/2 inches in overall length with a 12 inch clip-point blade. Top of crossguard marked: PROTOTYPE #3 RAMBO III and numbered 3 of 20. Iron wood handle with lanyard hole and leather wrist strap. This one includes a rare blade attachment seen by few, that fits into blade slot. Measuring 5-3/4 inches by 4-1/2 inches. Unique dual point design. Handle marked: HIBBEN KNIVES / LOUISVILLE, KY. and PROTOTPE RAMBO III. Contained in original brown leather holster. These can be added to the Rambo III knife into the slot in the blade. There were only two of these made, Gil Hibben kept one for himself and offered here is the one that he gave to Stallone. Overall in great condition, showing light handling wear; Gil Hibben sent these prototype knives directly to Stallone for his modification and approval before the final versions were made for film use; Stallone then kept them in his personal collection as he is an avid knife enthusiast.

"This is extremely rare and perhaps the only one in existence. It was an experiment to take the knife and keep expanding on its lethal qualities. Gil came up with the idea to add this somewhat futuristic blade through a slot in side of the knife which would create a battle axe, something that would look extremely foreboding to the enemy. We decided that it might be a bit much and discarded the idea, but this is the original concept."
