The Hustler (TCF, 1961/R-1964), Group of Lobby Cards. Group of (25) 11" x 14" lobby cards from the beloved 1961 drama starring Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason, consisting of (3) vintage original first run lobby cards, with printed "61/280" to bottom right corners and each printed with numbers "1", "2", and "6" respectively to bottom center, thus including the iconic shot of Gleason and Newman side-by-side at the pool table. Accompanied by (22) 1964 reproduction lobby cards, including 2- complete sets of (8) cards each, with printed "R-64/173" to bottom right corners and corresponding identification of each card numbered 1 through 8, and featuring the slightly altered design for the card's re-release, including '60s-style Pop Art imagery on the left side and the tagline "They Called Him 'Fast Eddie'" to top in red, and (6) 1964 reproduction lobby cards comprising an incomplete set, with printed "R-64/173" to bottom right corners and containing cards #1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Cards exhibiting some interspersed signs of age and wear including bumps, toning and blemishes, occasional verso tape, pinholes, as well as areas of color loss to the central image of the #2 card of the original set. Overall, a wonderful collection of lobby cards from this widely recognized and culturally significant film. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
