Star Wars: Episode IV New Hope (TCF, 1977), Half Sheet Poster. Tom Jung Artwork. Vintage original half sheet poster for the first film in George Lucas' seminal sci-fi saga. Scarcer than the one sheet posters for the film, the half sheet features a broader, more dynamic composition by artist Tom Jung, incorporating many important and beloved aspects from the blockbuster: Luke Skywalker, Princess, Leia Organa, Obi Wan Kenobi, C-3PO and R2-D2, an X-wing Starfighter dogfight, the looming mask of Darth Vader, and the triumphant Yavin Royal Award Ceremony. Two versions were created, one with a ratings box for domestic use, and one without for advance and international distribution. This is the domestic PG version distributed for the wide release of the film. Measuring 28" x 22", the poster was rolled and never folded. It exhibits some faint spots and light stains to the bottom border. Backed to a lightweight board, the poster presents well and is ready for display.
