Three Oversize Boris Karloff Portraits. Three striking, original oversize portraits of Boris Karloff include a picture of him in his study, reading a script during the 1941/1942 Broadway run of Arsenic and Old Lace; and two studies (8.5" x 9.5" in an 11" x 14" matte) of Karloff in The Linden Tree, a Broadway failure of 1948 for which Karloff held great affection. There's surface damage on the upper inch of the Arsenic-era shot (which was used in Cynthia Lindsay's 1975 book Dear Boris and is attached to board backing); the shots for The Linden Tree (with photographer's name en verso) are in near-Excellent condition. From the Boris Karloff Estate Collection. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from Sara Karloff Sparkman.
